Artist View Goes to C2E2

Today we make our way to the 6th annual Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) at McCormick Place. C2E2 is a convention spanning the latest and greatest from the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga and video games. Bringing the best of popular culture to Downtown Chicago, C2E2’s show floor is packed with hundreds of exhibitors, panels and autograph sessions giving fans a chance to interact with their favorite creators and screening rooms featuring sneak peeks at films and television shows months before they hit either the big or small screen!

I have been to Wizard World Comic Con but I have never been to C2E2 so I am looking forward to see what the difference is between the two Chicago Convention venues. This year I will also be attending my first main event, “Jay and Silent Bob Get Old”. Renowned filmmaker, comic book writer and internet radio personality Kevin Smith is returning to C2E2 and he’s coming with Jason Mewes. This comedian duo made history with their characters Jay & Silent Bob from the movies Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back, and Clerks 2. And tonight I will be able to see them at C2E2’s Main Stage for a live performance of their popular comedy podcast, Jay & Silent Bob Get Old. I am pretty excited to hear what stories they will be telling but I am sure they will be very entertaining and hilarious.

As for the rest of the afternoon I am looking forward to checking out some of the artists I am familiar with as well as check out other booths. Hopefully I will remember to document some my experience at this years C2E2 to share with those who cannot make it out or for those that are unfamiliar with a Comic Convention.
