There is an entire planet of music that I wouldn’t even know how to begin to get in my ears. Every country has their own feel, their own flavor. Influences that I don’t even realize exist yet. It is a beautiful concept to know that I still have a tremendous musical journey before me. Especially when I stumble upon music like Anja & Tim are creating in Berlin, Germany. This singer-songwriter project has a unique vibe to it yet speaks the universal language of rhythm. Each track has sweet, angelic vocal to it backed by an eclectic mix of the psychedelic 60’s era, drum and beat, and EDM. Their songs have an almost lullaby feel to them but with a subtle energy that you can feel course through your mind.

I usually listen to the music before I start reading into the band. I like to get a grasp of my own opinion before I cloud it with bios and the words of other press. I couldn’t help but think that this project would be a great prelude to a Massive Attack show. It brought a smile to my face to see that they too mentioned them in their bio. They also mentioned “Blues-inspired Cues dripping with Alt Rock swagger.” You can hear the blues in the baselines and if swagger had a true sound, this project would be a great way to describe it. I truly am enjoying this project. They have an elegance that is lacking in the music world today. Check them out for yourself.

Extended Plays is an ongoing music series of all the music that I stumble upon. I listen to the music, go with my gut and spill my honest and sometimes brutal opinion all over this blog. I hope you take the time to check out the artists I review for yourselves. I tend to believe that I am always right about everything but the most beautiful thing about music is that my opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but myself.
