I have such a soft spot for beautiful songstresses. There is a power they possess to be able to put a song to the most difficult of subjects. Ann Taylor’s new single Sober touches on a subject that many people are silent about. Living in a world with a person facing addiction can be ugly on the outside. But she has highlighted the experience with such beauty. The lonely world that coexists within the addiction can be one of the hardest to breathe in. The moments slowly break you apart as you watch your loved one fall apart right before your eyes.

“Ann Taylor is one of the most passionate people I have met, and is willing to put her entire soul into her music,” says frequent collaborator and fellow musician Shane Fortier of his experience working with Ann.

Giving this a soundtrack has helped take the power away from it. More artists should reach into this world and continue to shed the light on the ones who suffer along.

Extended Plays is an ongoing music series of all the music that I stumble upon. I listen to the music, go with my gut and spill my honest and sometimes brutal opinion all over this blog. I hope you take the time to check out the artists I review for yourselves. I tend to believe that I am always right about everything but the most beautiful thing about music is that my opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but myself.
