There is nothing like a good songstress on a relaxing morning like this. BRI’s sultry vocals have been dancing through the rooms of my home. Making memories the walls will tell each other again and again. Her intimate lyrics flow through me like pins and needles through my skin.

This bluesy EP is the perfect soundtrack to life and love. Its words are filled with empowerment, confessions, and truth. There is a lot of pain in these songs but BRI has the ability to pull beauty from pain. She finds the light in the dark.

I’ll rise up, rise like the day. I’ll rise up, rise unafraid. I’ll rise up and I’ll do it a thousand times again. I’ll rise up, high like the waves. I’ll rise up, in spite of the ache. I’ll rise up and I’ll do it a thousand times again for you.

All we need is hope…and for artists like BRI to keep writing songs like this. Expose your weaknesses and fears so the rest of us know that we are not alone.

Extended Plays is an ongoing music series of all the music that I stumble upon. I listen to the music, go with my gut and spill my honest and sometimes brutal opinion all over this blog. I hope you take the time to check out the artists I review for yourselves. I tend to believe that I am always right about everything but the most beautiful thing about music is that my opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but myself.
