Good music has a way of circling back to you if you are really paying attention. A few years ago, my husband and I stumbled upon Kimia Penton’s Lessons From Life and Love and we instantly fell in love with her gentle lyrics and melodies. So when her name popped back up in my world today, I took a journey back to her very successful 2015 and marveled at how far she has come since.

Kimia is releasing her newest album Where the Rain Falls on July 14th and tonight we are celebrating with a little taste of her world with the single Not Goodbye. I cannot imagine there is a soul in the world that won’t instantly relate to this song. Fighting for love. Staying instead of leaving. Believing in the faith between two people. It’s the greatest fight and she put it to a beautiful melody filled with the softness of her sultry, angelic voice. It’s powerful and infectious. It is the perfect tease of a song to keep us on the edge of our seats waiting for the rest of the album.

Extended Plays is an ongoing music series of all the music that I stumble upon. I listen to the music, go with my gut and spill my honest and sometimes brutal opinion all over this blog. I hope you take the time to check out the artists I review for yourselves. I tend to believe that I am always right about everything but the most beautiful thing about music is that my opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but myself.
