It’s pure magic when a musician can transcend the barriers between musical cultures. I stumbled upon an up and coming singer, songwriter, and composer who has found the perfect blend of electronic pop, classical Indian music and the enchantment of Bollywood. SuriLee and her ominous vocals dance quietly between the beats of her 7- track debut album, Wild Lily. The emotions behind each carefully crafted song are unavoidable. This album is a breath of unfamiliar air. You breathe it in deeply and are taken to an otherworldly place. It’s invigorating. It’s exciting to know that there are still musicians out there creating beautiful music their own way and finding a connection with their listeners.

You can feel her grow into her self as you take in each note of this album. It is a gift to be able to share that with the world like this. Vulnerable. Intense. Powerful. Beautiful. This is just the beginning for this emerging and talented artist.

Over a year in the making and one of my most treasured projects to this day, I truly put my heart and soul into this album; carving out every detail. I grew as an artist, and am still growing, in a capacity that is way beyond my imagination. I now believe that one should never limit themselves to their dreams as the universe has its’ own plans, which are bigger than those dreams. -SuriLee

Extended Plays is an ongoing music series of all the music that I stumble upon. I listen to the music, go with my gut and spill my honest and sometimes brutal opinion all over this blog. I hope you take the time to check out the artists I review for yourselves. I tend to believe that I am always right about everything but the most beautiful thing about music is that my opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but myself.
