When a singer songwriter starts making waves locally, it is time for him to branch out and give the rest of the world a taste. That is the story behind Canadian Roots Rock songwriter, Tod Hughes. His new full length album Time Slow Down a beautiful hidden gem that is laid back yet filled with an energy that cannot be denied. This record leaves me wanting it to be the warmer street festival season. Where music fills the streets as you unintentionally start humming along. You can definitely feel his influences sewn through his songs but this is unlike any album I have heard. Lyrics for all the masses as he soulfully sings about love, hurt, happiness, fear, uncertainty and fun. This record could be found on anyone’s playlist.

Extended Plays is an ongoing music series written by myself and my partner James. We listen to music, go with our gut and spill our honest and sometimes brutal opinion all over this blog. We hope you take the time to check out the artists we review for yourselves. We tend to believe that we are always right about everything but the most beautiful thing about music is that our opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but ourselves.
