viseMennHoping to turn your ears in a different direction, viseMenn have released a new called single “Begging You Please.” From across the pond, the Norwegian quartet features members from vastly different backgrounds that were brought together to create the dreamlike sound you are about to hear.

They are like nothing being played on the radio today. Their sound is progressive, yet streamlined in delivery. “Begging You Please” is four minutes and twenty-five seconds that will stick with you long after the last chord is played.

The lyrics are effective and the vocals haunting. The listener is taken in and slowly brought further. The sound is a subdued yet powerful in tone. There is no doubting their musicianship.

The intro is slow in pace but builds to the chorus. No one instrument overwhelms the other. The sound is tight. Sometimes independent artists can suffer due to bad production. In the case of viseMenn, the band and all four of its members are mixed extremely well.

What catches me with these guys is that, right off the bat, you know they know what they are doing. They are proficient. This song is a tease. I can’t by any means dismiss viseMenn. I want to hear more. I am waiting for them to really grab me.

“Begging You Please” is a good single. These guys are good musicians. I need more to tell you how good they really are.

Extended Plays is an ongoing music series written by myself and my partner Lizzy. We listen to music, go with our gut and spill our honest and sometimes brutal opinion all over this blog. We hope you take the time to check out the artists we review for yourselves. We tend to believe that we are always right about everything but the most beautiful thing about music is that our opinion doesn’t matter to anyone but ourselves.
