The Garbage Pail Kids Have Grown Up

30 years later, The Garbage Pail Kids have grown up in this Adult Variant Series

Around a year ago, friends Jake Houvenagle and Brandon Voges went to lunch to catch up, bounce ideas off each other, and drink good beer. In the midst of their conversation Jake has the idea to shoot Garbage Pail Kids, 30 years later. The concept was they would shoot the Garbage Pail Kids as adults, in real life situations, with backstories. Obviously the idea was brilliant and the two had to make it happen.

Jake and Brandon sifted through the old Garbage Pail Kids cards and selected the card that would be right for the shots. For over a year they have been working on this very large project. Shooting on location in the Bruton Stroube Studios and on location around St. Louis. These photos are twisted but highly entertaining so enjoy with caution. Let me know in the comments what Garbage Pail Kid was your favorite or what GPK you would like to see 30 years later?

Here are the first 6 Garbage Pail Kids in the Adult Variant Series.

Check out this awesome video of the “Photoshop Layer Magic” that went into creating these amazing photos.
